How I Love Hootsuite!

In case you hadn’t noticed, I love social media. Even when I’m just hanging out on a Saturday night, I’m still doing social media. I guess I’m what you could call a fanatic. (which is where the word “fan” came from in case you didn’t know)
So with all this social media that I do for fun, how can I post all my information for all of you in an efficient and effective way to use my time wisely? You guessed it: my friend, Hootsuite. The best friend a social media strategist could have.
With Hootsuite, you can have more control over your content updates AND you can track click statistics with Hootsuite’s built in analytics.
Here are the great benefits with Hootsuite:

It’s easy to handle multiple accounts.The HootSuite display lets you put Twitter accounts in individual tabs with highly customizable columns, which minimizes the requirement for horizontal scrolling and lets you scan information relevantfor the particular account, including keyword tracking, direct messages, and Groups.
- HootSuite is internet based. HootSuite is web based, so that it won’t affect the performance and speed of the computer.

HootSuite offers statistics.Here is the key feature for knowing when and the way to tweet for optimum impact. Any links which are shortened within HootSuite using their native service Ow.ly may then be tracked inside the program’s dashboard. It records the amount of clicks as a whole, or for virtually any particular post in a given period. Anyone attempting to prevent wasting time and effort on items of little interest to followers will discover this invaluable.

You can schedule your tweets.I prefer to check on my feed reader once each morning, therefore it doesn’t distract me through the remainder of my day. Usually I find a number of articles worth passing along on Twitter, but wouldn’t like to send them out three or four at the same time. With HootSuite I can schedule the first to post at lunch, the second in the late afternoon and the third in the evening. If I find one part of the day results in more clicks I will adjust, sending future tweets at half-hour intervals throughout the day at the best time period.
- The RSS feeds integration is great! Nice alternative if you are looking for something to replacetwitterfeed.com. Your company’s blog feed or news feed can be set to a specific update frequency. If HootSuite finds more than one post to send, you can tell them how many you’d like to push to Twitter each time. HootSuite could publish a maximum of 5 posts per cycle to multiple Twitter profile
- The drag-n-drop tabs/columns are user-friendly. HootSuite has the most customizable, user-friendly interface I’ve seen so far. You create tabs, then add your twitter mention, direct message, search feed, pending feed and so on as columns. You can edit the tabs and columns to change their title and refresh rate (every 5 min, 10 min, etc). In addition, you can re-order their positions by drag-n-drop. For those organizations that intend to display a Twitter search feed on the .com website, HootSuite even gives you the codes for it. Click the [< >] embed button at the top of the search column. You can change the title of the embeddable column and modify its height/width. Once you’ve set it up, click “Grab Code” to generate the HTML for the embeddable column.
- Embedded Tracking is available. As long as you use Ow.ly as the shortener, HootSuite tracks all the clicks and delivers useful charts to analyze your performance.
The summary stat will show you:
- Total clicks (for the past 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or from within a certain date range)
- Daily clicks
- Clicks by region (overall)
- Top referrers (overall)
- Most popular tweets
The individual stat will show you:
- The total clicks on an individual ow.ly link you tweeted out
